How cute is this??

Does someone need a hair cut? I know a bath is in order on this warmer weekend. Max wanted everyone to see a current picture of himself.

One Mitten Finished

I got one of the mittens done from me weekend project started a couple weekends ago. Actually only the thumb needed to be finished. I did the thumb as directed and it looked bad and was about and inch to long for the biggest hand. I redid it and it is ok. The mitten goes up to mid forearm. In the mean time I had a paid project and decided to start another shawl on size 15 needles, it is just a job to keep the stitches on the needle. No wonder EZ mentions using wooden needles for shawls with fine yarn. I will manage. I am also working on a cardigan in unspun Icelandic yarn. I am trying crocheted steeks, so far the neck pouch is holding. I am nervous about doing the whole body. I will have to sit in a dark room after I cut. The sewing machine will be close by. We'll see how long it takes to get the second mitten done?

Knitting from Charts

I do think my most favorite type of knitting is Two color. I do liking knitting from charts for patterns, but for actual adds and decreases, cables etc, I guess I do need practice. I found this mitten pattern blogging and thought what a fun weekend project while watching football. The cardinal game was a good watch. The first big new skill I just learned is knitting a braided edge. Converting to left handed knitting I think I did it correctly. I do see myself doing it again. I think I like it better than starting with I cord for mitten hems. This pattern has a different way of doing the thumb, it comes out of the side.
